>The Outroads of Termina were dotted with military outposts. Places where road patrols where staged and where caravans carrying valuables towards Empyrean would be inspected or rest up for the next leg of their journey. The valuables stopped here were usually for the Kingdom's military... Or something wanted by the The Church of the Holy Flame.
>Though, by virtue of being here, General Victoria Neige had an inkling that whatever was being housed within the wooden walls of this for humbly sized outpost was something the Church wanted to have. Either to lock away from the world or to hoard for their own gain. She didn't care wither way. What she did care about, was the sheer boredom of this assignment. She could be out on patrol instead, with any luck running into a particularly talented pack of wolves to battle, or something else equally engaging. Like interrogating criminal rats, or testing the mettle of the troops here and measure their worth. But no, she was sitting on a stump and sourly taking likes from an ice cream cone while starring at a covered cart ruefully until it was time to move on once more. But alas, work was work, and she couldn't rightly refuse it.
>To pass the time and preserve her sanity, she inspects the area she's in, just to see if she can find any holes in the defences to write home about later. First off, everything was wood. From the four 25 foot tall 45 foot wide walls that made up the outer perimeter, to the buildings that housed supplies, the barracks, and other such facilities. The only scraps of metal to be found where the massive hinges on the gates, which, again, were entirely wood otherwise. With fire such a common place magic in Termina she'd would have at least expected the wooden walls to be treated with something to prevent it all from going up in flames. Perhaps they had, perhaps they had not. She wasn't about to get up from her spot to check.
>Second was the lack of personnel. Not as painful lacking as it could, but still enough to affect tides of battle should the siege be staged.
>But surely no one was stupid enough to attack an outpost of the Great Kingdom of Termina... right?
