>>41107146 >Both wolves leapt in far too quickly for her to get to them before they could attack, but now that they were occupied Saber had her opportunity. Dashing forward, she attempted to assault the wolf that had missed him earlier, trying to catch it while it was dazed with simultaneous attacks with her daggers.
>Passing by with a speed almost equal to the beasts themselves, Saber pivoted as on her heels to ensure both strikes would strike at the wolf's side.

>>41107148 >Having landed after the failed leap towards Jerome, the first wolf staggered on its feet, attempting to make a quick turn to attack again. However, a dagger brushed across the fur standing up on its back, cutting some hairs but not connecting with any part of its flesh. The second strike, however, looked as though it might slash across its side so, with a quick hop, it attempted to dodge the blow.

>>41107148 >>41107150 >>41107148 >Right then, so far as days go this one had been especially dreadful. Starting off with failing to eat a proper lunch when an assassin starting slaughtering brigands before him, Jerome had then been stuck chasing her half-way across town and then drag her back to the village authorities before seeing her escape once more. Failing to being involved in her recapture, Jerome then fled the village like a thief, was forced away from Kingsmeet, was stuck to endure the woman's complaining as she followed him into the woods and then feed her on top of all that. And now a wolf was biting into his shoulder. Great, just fucking great.
>Snarling openly through the pain of the bite, Jerome clenched both daggers in his hands and swung them upwards at the beast's neck. Damn it all, having a ravanous beast chew on his flesh was NOT how he'd intended for this day to end!

>>41107160 [Wolf 1] >The beast was smarter than it let on. Now that he was on the ground, as soon as Jerome made a move to assault it, the wolf released its bite and backed away, moving easily out of the way of the strike. Still, even if it had backed off for the moment, it didn't intend to give its tough-armoured prey a chance to get back up.
>Diving in again after the attack, the wolf once again attempted to bite through the plate keeping the flesh concealed.
[Wolf 2] >Given that it had just been attacked by a different opponent, the wolf knew it wouldn't be able to assist the other without getting past the threat standing between them. Without a second's thought, it rushed forward, attempting to claw at her legs in order to make it easier to pass by.

Tsk!
>Seeing as his blow missed, a full regiment of Cassiline instruction and rigorous training exercises saw to it that Jerome instinctively turned up his thickly armored forearm just in time for the wolf to bite down on his vambrace rather than it reach some more vulnerable part of his armor.

>Meanwhile, the other wolf, having swiped with its claws towards Saber's legs, attempts to keep running as she jumps, heading towards its partner.

>>41107196 >>41107172 >Snatching his vambrace out of the snarling wolve's mouth, Jerome stepped forward, flexed his arm to the left and slammed his dagger clenched in his right hand right into the beast's gaping maw. All the while stepping forward and trying to plant his left hand blade straight into the wolf's back.

>After landing on the ground from her jump, Saber immediately followed the wolf that had dashed past, going again for a double-stab against the wolf assaulting Jerome's leg.

Her first attack was dodged - just as she'd expected, for while the wolf was in the air it wouldn't have its natural agility to keep it safe.
>The second cut tore across its neck, her dagger now soaked red with blood. That same blood was now pouring from the wound on the wolf's neck, causing it to whimper slightly before growling in pain and anger.

>Putting his dagger away, the Cassiline was just done with treating these enemies like respectable opponents worthy of his steel. No, if these damned mutts wanted to dent his armor then by the Companion, it was his armor that would make them pay!
>Rearing back his right leg after firmly planting his left leg in the dirt, Jerome kicked out at the wolf's prone form in an attempt to kick it right in the stomach with his armored boot.
