I guess not, huh...
>As bad as Sally felt for the guy, she was far too ecstatic at the fact that this girl really could make explosions to care right now. The guild wasn't taking her request lightly after all! Her tears no longer present, she was grinning ear to ear, her heart filled with hope at the fact that maybe, just maybe she and Richard might be safe once this was all over!
I'm not sure where exactly, but when they attacked Littlewood they came up from the South. I remember the guy who screamed the warning at everyone. 'From the hills!' he said. I don't think anyone's tried looking for their base, sorry... I hoped you people might know more.
>Then again, this girl didn't seem like she was all there sometimes.
They have this weird flag that looks like four pictures. A fist full of money, a knife, a fire and a weird looking face.
Janet Malpirg !MrCarnage2 1 Nov 2015 9:30:27 PM No.41133616>>41134513
>>41133595 >Nodding to herself, as much as to the girl, Janet hefted her pack once before starting to walk away waving to Sally as she did.
Seeya soon Sally.
Don't worry, those bad guys'll be dead before you know it.
>And as she happily walked towards the aforementioned hills, a small white kitten popped its head from Janet's pack with a cookie in its mouth, tilting its head at the village girl but otherwise seeming quite happy to much on her baked goods.
A Scene Most Terrible!pR.BaFF/uk 2 Nov 2015 4:34:31 PM No.41134513>>41134546
>>41133616 >Over the hills and far away, she swears she will return some day. Once the explosions are done and she's earned her pay, in any case. It's a fair distance to the supposed location of the bandit camp by foot, but Janet has her own ways of travel - namely Footsplosions. In a crowded place like Kingsmeet it wouldn't be worth the trouble - too many people would complain and she wouldn't be allowed any pancakes, but out here in the boonies nobody cared if there was a giant hole in the grass. Well, maybe some of the animals living down there, but they shouldn't be making homes in places that might blow up one day! Animals should know better. The cat certainly did.
>So, with her unique kind of speed, it only took a couple of hours to cross the hills. Good thing she got those cookies when she did! A few rest stops here and there to devour that delicious chocolate and boom, off she went like a bounding rabbit. To her right, several miles away, was a small forest that contained the now-destroyed village of Littlewood. Ordinarily Janet might not have noticed it or cared so much, but when turning to look at the place, it would make her feel oddly sad without really knowing why. Something bad happened in that place, something she could feel even though she wasn't there.
>But it wasn't enough to distract her from her goal. What happens can't be changed, and it'd be pointless to go and mourn right now. A little further across the hilly landscape, and in the distance was a small ruin and... smoke? Dust? Approaching closer would reveal traces of fire, freshly broken stone. Even closer, and it was plain to see bodies strewn all over the place, some still moving, some not, some in all kinds of strange places you wouldn't expect them to be. There was even one hanging from that flag Sally mentioned - the cross shape with the four weird symbols. Definitely their base, then.
>Had she already come and done her job, and just forgotten? Maybe Janet had already run through on the way here and accidentally blown it up. It sure seemed like it. Might be best to make sure, just in case.
>There was one guy standing right in the middle of it all, though - he might know whether Janet already blew them up. Or maybe he was the only one left to blow up. That'd make things easier.
Ha ha ha ha ha... ahaha ha ha ha...
>Uh oh, looks like he's laughing like a crazy person. Or maybe he just knew a really funny joke he'd been keeping to himself the whole time? Who knows?
Janet Malpirg !MrCarnage2 2 Nov 2015 6:14:12 PM No.41134546>>41134548
>>41134513 >Well, at least he seemed to be having fun. With bruised ankles and holes in her shoes, Janet looked out on what must have been either a truly comical or tragic scene. On the one hand, if that fellow had seen his friends butchered and he was laughing about his own good luck at having survived then good on him for doing so. Often times it was so hard to keep a positive outlook on life. On the other hand though, if this guy was some kind of would-be mercenary after another outfit's contracts then she needed to set the record straight.
>As the man stood on a bunch of bloodied corpses who only moaned and shifted ever so slightly under his weight, Janet walked up to the cackling man to stand next to him and wait for him to take notice. If standing amidst a moderate amount of fresh corpses bothered the 14 year old girl then none of it showed in her demeanor though the bloody much would most certainly ruin her socks.
Nice weather we're having huh.
>She commented mildly once the man would have turned to face her.

>If he'd seen or heard her approach at all, the strange person sure didn't show it. Apparently he either wasn't paying attention or was bad at finding people who sneak up behind him. Given that Janet hadn't even been sneaking, maybe he was really bad at it. His white hair shook to the side as he turned around, revealing red eyes that didn't seem to care much or acknowledge who he was seeing.
Where'd you come from? Do they have midget burrows around here or something?
>The odd boy checked around himself as if to make sure there weren't any midget burrows before turning back to look at her. There was a strange deadness to his gaze, almost as if he wasn't all there, though in a different way to the girl in front of him.
I guess you're right. It's a pretty nice day outside! Do you wanna get a closer look at the clouds? I hear they're real fluffy to touch.

>>41134548 >So the guy was a real sociopath then. He see's a smiling teenager in a bloodied battlefield and the first thing that comes to mind is for him is to kill her too. Now, normally Janet wouldn't call someone a sociopath lightly given that some of the wolves used that name on her when they thought she couldn't hear but this man certainly seemed the bloodthirsty idiot type.
Real fluffy huh...
Guess you'd know, your head looks like it spends a lot of time up there.
>By now Janet's pleasant smile had dropped to settle into something closer to that of relaxed boredom. Certainly the man was a threat and his powers were unknown to her but that was precisely why she didn't have to take him seriously.
>Crossing her arms tilting her head to the side, the readhead's mouth quirked in annoyance as she asked the man.
So, where do you get off thinking you can steal my work?
?? / (Baff no trip) 3 Nov 2015 5:21:26 AM No.41135368>>41135673
>>41135355 >A wordy one, this one. Most of them just shouted gibberish before they started screaming. Perhaps she just didn't know better? It was a shame to have to take care of things the simple way, but everyone in this place was supposed to kick the bucket, so-
Steal? Huh? Steal what, exactly?
>Looking around, all he could see was a pile of rubble and corpses. Oh, unless she meant the part where it wasn't that, and it become that way afterwards? Why let her have all the fun? Wait, did that mean she wasn't one of the people here? It was odd for a girl like that to show up out of no-where, but he might as well check.
Oi, you.
>Taking a few paces over to a man in armour and red garb decorated with a flame symbol, a hunk of stone crushing his chestplate, the young man grabbed his head by the scalp and turned him to face Janet, the bandit's eyes barely able to register what was going on.
You know her at all? I figured she was one of yours but now I'm not so sure. "Nn... please... just let me go... I promise, I-" Not what I asked.
>The boy stuck his fingers into the wound of the man, and shortly afterwards there was no longer much of a body to look at. An explosion of blood, and the fellow under the rock was no more.
>Yet, even though the ground around him was splattered red, and even Janet was caught by a few drops, the white-haired boy was left completely untouched. Taking the entire event in stride, he took a couple of paces towards the next injured member, this one wearing a rich orange hue bearing the symbol of a knife.
What about you? You know her? "N-No! Ain't neva seen'er b'fore! Not once!" Tch. Figured as much.
>Seemingly opting to spare that one for now, he turned back around to the red-haired girl, placing a hand on his face and letting out a deep sigh.
Well this is weird, you're not on the guest list. Guess that makes you a party crasher, huh?
Janet Malpirg !MrCarnage2 3 Nov 2015 4:23:24 PM No.41135673>>41135744
>>41135368 >With drops of blood splattered on her right cheek, Janet felt a cold emptiness spread through her gut the likes of which she had never felt before. Here was a case of a man who didn't kill because he had to or out of obligation. Rather, if ever there was an obligation behind his acts then it was mere after-thought to the addictive elation he reveled in exerting his power. Crushing anyone he could get away with underfoot in a maddened craze of dominance. Looking at him now, Janet saw something of herself in him, a distant echo to what she might have been if not for the love and support of those around her. That realization coming over her, the cold numbness in her stomach spread and turned to leaded weight, bringing over her a sinking feeling of nausea.
meow
He sure is Aerth, no doubt about that.
>Death in all its forms was natural, Janet was neither afraid of it nor overly enthusiastic about it. Much in the same way most people felt about wind or rain, the flame haired girl felt nothing for the natural evolution of all living things. Though what the man before her was doing was far removed from the natural order. Smiling cruelly and delighting in suffering, Janet grit her teeth and resolve as one. Before this sociopath could turn on her or the villagers of the next town over, Janet would wipe this menace of the face of the Earth right here and then!
>Thrusting her right hand out to her side, fingers sprayed out as wide as they would go, Janet opened the floodgate that existed within her mind to allow magic to flow through her body. Not being limited to a single aspect of magic, the true undiluted power of another plane of existence flooded into her body, filling it with more potential than her reality could encompass. But even as her fabric glowed with the all powerful might of a different world, something essential to Janet rejected it in kind, forcing it out of her with the same impenetrability of water forcing oil from its confines.
>Twisting her out-reached hand into a claw, Janet thrust it forward even as she lost control of the magic she called into being, redirecting all of its ill begotten reality onto the white haired menace that existed in front of her.

>>41135744 ==BOOM== >The force of the explosion sent ripples of energy through the ground beneath them, cracks forming in both the soil and ruins surrounding them. Dust kicked up around the area, almost like a mist, hiding whatever remained of the white-haired boy from view. Yet, as the dust settled, there he stood - neither touched by blood nor a speck of the dust that surrounded him.
Uuuugh... man. That was a lot more than I was expecting right there...
>Shaking his head a little, a hand still on his face, as the mist was carried away by the wind Janet would notice something off about it. Everything seemed to be moving around him, almost as if trying to avoid contact with the boy, drawing close but then diverting as though there were some kind of wall stopping them from entering his vicinity.
>And yet, even though he didn't seem to be harmed, he stumbled slightly, almost tripping over his own feet. Whatever had happened, it didn't seem like he had been entirely unaffected by her attack at all. Was it just a case of bombarding him until he burst into chunks?

>Though the man stood and was well alive, the mere fact that he had been stunned by the blast meant he was nowhere near the same level of strength as either Rem or Drummond and that in turn meant it was just a matter of time before the bastard fell over.
meow
Fine, but only because you insist.
>Whilst the man still stunned senseless and would likely not see the second blast coming, Janet once again pulled on her body's connection to the aether pulling her left arm back as a focus to help her visualize where she should release the pure abnormal energy that swelled within her and cried for release. But just as she felt she was at her limit, she threw her left arm forward, aiming to release the destructive forces she'd accrued right on the bloodthirsty bastard who'd been so callus as to torture people in front of a fourteen year old.

>>41135764 >>41135769 ==BOOM== >Once more the explosion rocked through the area, further cracking open the ground beneath their feet. Yet, this time, something even stranger occurred. The waves of force that shot out from the explosion inverted, changing direction from their usual paths of simply blowing outwards and instead pointed towards Janet, chunks of the rubble flying towards her as a result, as well as most of the shockwave.
>As the dust cleared once again, the boy stood, a disturbingly cold grin on his face as he looked directly at Janet.
... much more than I expected.
>Beneath Janet, she would feel something change, some kind of primordial force that typically governed the nature of the world shifting and churning.
But still not enough!
>The very gravity beneath her feet seemed to reverse, attempting to shoot her into the sky before reversing once again, slamming whatever was caught in the well of force back down to the ground.

>>41135765 >>41135769 >>41135772 >Standing her ground as her magic turned in upon itself to blast Janet back and rip at her body with shards of hardened earth, Janet braced herself against the blast. Doubling over against the sudden wind and pain that lanced along her arms, legs and mid-riff, Janet knew that she couldn't pull that stunt again. Another explosion of that size and she would be caput. After that the guy would turn on her and it well all be over. No, if she was going to win then she needed to pace herself with smaller blasts. It wouldn't take a huge one to blow him apart and she might well be able to pump out another half a dozen if she really tried though she would likely pass out from the pain after that. Already she could feel her body ache with the strain of channeling magic through her body the way only she could. It hurt and it sucked but right now all she knew was survival and she still wasn't down for the count.
>The guy liked to talk while he fought, he yammered on and on about how strong he was but he didn't get that it made his attack obvious. Looking at the ground like that, it was no surprise then that Janet was able to move away from the spot Mort's magic affected before the spell could take a hold of her. If she could get to him, truly get down and land one or two good shots then she knew that's all it would take to end this madness.
RRRRAAAAAAAAAGH!
>Screaming with pain as her body rebelled against the strain she demanded from it, Janet forced another bit of aether to come through and settle into her body. Not nearly as large as the other doses she'd summoned, the otherworldly magic didn't hurt her nearly as much as it had before as she pumped it out of her, forcing yet another blast of pure magical force on the sociopath that would undoubtedly kill her if given half a chance.

>>41135890 ==BOOM== >The explosion once again sent cracks through the ground, but this one was less powerful, more easily managed. Having taken two stronger blows before to get used to the bombardment he was facing, the young man took the force created from the explosion, or what little there was left, and redirected it back towards its origin, knocking the wind out of her gut with violent fervor.
Hahaha, hee hee, akikikikikikiii! Is this all you've got!? With a serious expression like that, I thought I might have a fight on my hands, but really you're just a lost little lamb who needs a helping hand on her way back home!

Still, no matter how the bastard bragged about how easy it was the hit her, the reality was that she could feel his spells growing weaker even as she burned through her stamina. If that was true, then she could do this.
>Grinning widely in response to his own psychotic delirium, Janet readied another blast of aether, if she could land a single hit he was done because there was no way that shield of his could hold out forever, not when he couldn't hit her to save his life. Channeling the raw power of the Aether inside of her, Janet pulled in the magic and released it back out into the madman's direction, pointing out to him with her right hand.
