I'm the best guy in the Guard! I mean, aside from all my superiors...And maybe the Elites. I'm definitely the best rookie though!
>And that was probably an exaggeration too, but Abris had a healthy adolescent self image and by that, I mean he's a cocky little shit.
...But some help'd be nice. Can't do everything on your own, I guess...
>Besides, the Basilisks were mostly female! Maybe his partner from that guild'd be really pretty and nice...They'd get on well, and maybe he'd get a girlfriend! He didn't really know much about the Wolves though, other than that they had a slightly cleaner reputation than the Basilisks and that they were known for having some really nutty members. They were still a pack of vultures, just maybe not criminals.
You won't regret picking me! I promise that no matter the cost, justice WILL be done!
>He throws out his hand in a thumbs up, a huge dumb grin on his face as he winks at Irya
>>41186891 >And there he goes again being all youthful and enthusiastic. Jeez, makes her envy them sometimes.
Just make sure you don't get too reckless. Last thing I want out of this operation is to have Guard be one officer short. Pain is temporary, Death is Permanent and all that.
>Though with that done, it meant that she needed to get everything else in motions.
Well, I think we're done here now so you're free to go. You'll be contacted for mission briefing when the time comes.
>Hopefully getting old man Rem to throw his lot in with her won't be a big pain in the arse... Or he won't have some childish prank to play while she's there.
>He snaps into a salute on reflex, though this time, he picks his words a little more carefully.
Ma'am yes ma'am!
>And with that, he sets his way out of her office and through the main office of the Basilisks. Perhaps he was a little too excited to be working with mercenary guilds, but in the interest of the public, he could work with anyone. And this WAS in the interest of the public, in helping them to feel safe in their own homes, rather than praying that they're not the next victims.
>To that end, he'd partner with any mercenary guild. Maybe not on a permanent basis, but one should use all the tools they have to complete a mission, and they were definitely tools.
>But never mind that! He had his goal, and he'd be meeting his team soon. And then...Justice would be done.
>He was practically bouncing on the balls of his feet just thinking about it.

>>41186969 >Some time later. >Once again Abris would find himself back at the Basilisk's base and sitting in the dinning hall at a long table with a few freshly made appetizers adorning the pristine surface. Meats, breads, and.... beansprots? This was it, he'd meet the other two members of his team shortly.
>But right now, he was alone in the room for now aside from the odd snake guild member popping in to go to another part of the mansion. >That would change soon enough though.
>And he came back, ship-shape and Bristol fashion! His sword had been polished, only the finest wood would do, and he'd been training harshly for the time to come.
>Now he was here, and ready to kick some criminal butt!
Lei Jìjìng!aLEJudith. 18 Dec 2015 8:51:54 AM No.41187374>>41187963 File: 1450446714680.jpg (337.99 KB, 473x739, 8fbbc2b2baed0020d2c64ea084b60c…)
>>41187135 >It didn't take long for the second member of the team to arrive. Pushing open the door and striding in on oh so long and shapely legs, the contribution of the Wolves Guild enters the dinning hall with a confident grin on her face.
. . .
>Brilliant red hair tied back into long ponytail that flowed behind her as she walked. Clad in an... interesting state of dress consisting of black shorts, a small top, and an open leather jacked that did all it could to accent her wonderful hourglass figure. Two pendants hung from her neck, one was clearly belonged to the Wolves as a it was a simple wolf's head, the other was a glass phial with some sort of black powder inside. An absurdly long rifle was slung over her shoulder, a revolver hung in it's holster on her hip, and several bombs adorned the belt it was connected too. And to top it all off, she wore orange sunglasses over her amber eyes.
. . .?
>She looks over to the person that was going to be her partner in this operation. A young officer of the City Guard? Well, he looked a little green (literally with that hair!) but if he was here then she won't judge him too much.
Yo.
>She spoke only one word in her greeting to him, it as all that was needed until he responded and maybe asked questions. Though it was enough for Abris to pick up on a foreign accent he's never really heard before. Not too thick, but present. Only added to her whole erotic image as well.
>Nice body, nice hair, she even had a weird accent that he couldn't quite place. Whatta knockout! Of course, he was no schmooze. Abris Phinn was an officer and a gentleman! But the officer part was a work in progress and the gentleman part could really use some polishing.
>So for now, he'd engage in conversation. They'd be working together after all! He could put on the patented Phinn Charm later.
>He grins and waves back at her
Hey there! You're here for the thing too, huh? I'm Abris, from the Guard. Where're you from, huh? 'Cause I'm meant to be getting someone from the Wolves and someone from the Basilisks and-
>His gaze scanned her body, looking for the telltale signs of a merc, usually a Guild insignia. At last, he alights on the symbol. A wolf shaped pendant hung around her neck. So, the Wolves, huh? Maybe she was as nutty as the rest of them...
>It then occurred to Abris that he'd been staring into the gaping cavern of infinity that was her cleavage. He hadn't entirely meant to, he'd spied the pendant and his eyes just kinda...wandered. He blinks a couple of times, before coughing and drawing back up into a 'cooler' stance.
Yes, well. The Wolves are okay, so I heard. Though a cabbage salesman did come to us about a property damage case once...
>He tried very hard to keeps his eyes away from her and or shut. Concentrate, Abris. This is a time for justice, not your libido.
Lei Jìjìng!aLEJudith. 18 Dec 2015 9:28:48 PM No.41187988>>41187991>>41188323>>41188325>>41188331 File: 1450492128834.png (325.88 KB, 600x600, b732b95ec925122babcfeb8889b58e…)
>>41187963 >Well, at least he retained the ability speak. Most men just stared and then said "Hey Baby, wan' some fuck?" To which she responded by taking pot shots at them. >So she smiles at him as he introduces himself and she responds in kind.
Lei Jìjìng, with the Wolves yes.
>The whole deal about property damage... Sadly that didn't exactly narrow down who, if anyone, from her guild could have been involved. Could be Janet, most likely... Or Drommage, or even the oldman Rem himself.
Haven't known that one yet. You find them soon hopefully.
>With her talking a bit more, in some slightly broken Common as if she was still trying to grasp it, it's more apparent that she was a nice enough person. Even if she was a mercenary.
>This was going to be hard to explain. Abris looks visibly flustered, far more embarrassed than he ever would have been getting caught staring. His hand comes up to rake through his hair. They were probably going to want an elite! A commanding officer! Not some, admittedly devilishly handsome and stunning powerful, greenhorn!
...About two weeks?
>It was a question, as though he were testing the waters with that answer and could provide a better one if it were not suited to the customer.
Lei Jìjìng!aLEJudith. 19 Dec 2015 12:28:18 PM No.41188348>>41188363>>41188410 File: 1450546098857.gif (988.37 KB, 250x141, tumblr_nuo7xtkNN31tmhcmyo1_250…)
>>41187991 >Two weeks huh? And he already found himself in a big op like this. If she wasn't knowledgeable in how Irya operates, then she'd have expected that to be a rash decision. >More over, while one's time in an organization can be used to estimate their skill and such, it was only one set of data and also subject to tons of variables. Abris could be new to the guard but have refined his skills to a nice polish over the years...
Well, here regardless, so good on you. Says something of what Irya saw inside you.
>Still, she'll act as a big-sister-teacher if needed by. She's use to that roll anyway--
>>41188331 >Something in the corner of her eye tipped her off they weren't allow. That feeling of being watched but not knowing by who or what. She's learned to trust that gut feeling in the years and it's saved her more times then she can count. To that end, she pulls up her sunglasses and stares at a darkened corner of the room where the blinds have been pulled over the window.
. . .
>To Abris, it would seem nothing was there at all. Just a dark part of the room, nothing more nothing less. But to the trained eye of a sniper...
You, stop hiding. Out now where I can see you. >Continued.
>>41187991 >>41188348 >In response to Lei's demand, the shadows in that dark corner begin to shudder and twist into the a slider willowy form in a cloak as black as a moonless night. The only scrap of skin to be seen among the blackness was a pale jaw and a set of lips. >Now that they made themselves known, Abris would recognize the cloaked figure as the person that contacted them to meet with the Basilisk's boss and started all this in the first place. And they just seemed to appear out of thin air... or was they there the whole time without the officer ever knowing?
You saw me good, at least I know your eyes won't miss a detail now.
>The hooded head of the wraith like person turns to look at Abris. Once again their voice gives away nothing other then a calm neutral tone of someone who observed those without being observed themselves.
And it seems we meet again. Seems my master took a liking to you as I predicted Officer Phinn.
>Huh? There was someone hiding there? He hadn't even noticed-SWEET JESUS
>Abris leaps up as the figure comes out of nowhere. What kind of stealth god could hide around in dark spaces?! Oh, he was being addressed.
>Abris pauses, before nodding back to...him, her? It was a person in a cloak.
Yeah, I remember you. You said we weren't gonna meet again, huh?
>He looks between the three of them. The Wolfish sniper and a mysterious snake...Did that make him a Guard dog? This analogy was getting away from him. He eyes the robed figure.
>>41188410 I thought so as well, but it seems fate decided that our paths intersect for little longer. Master Iyra needs my skills for this operation more then was originally intended. Not that I mind.
>As he ask if they're going to take their cloak off, they simply walk over to the dinning table and take a seat.
I might if you pay me to. Otherwise it's not part of my job description. Can't let people know anything about me if I can help it. Bad for business and all that.
>Lei frowns at the cloaked person and shakes her head before joining the figure at the table
Just come in like normal person next time. Don't take kindly to being spied on.
Understandable, I'll keep that in mind during our short time together.
>With that, the both of them take some food from the massive selection before them. Lei taking a few slabs of meat while the other one settled for a simple bowl of bean sprouts.
>Oh, food. He'd not even noticed that. Abris wanders over to the table, picking up a plate and piling on the food. Taking a few portions of meat and veg on his plate, he takes a seat and starts eating away at it. His eyes widen as he starts vigorously chowing down on it
Good! Really good! Who made this, this is some pretty good stuff! I should be taking notes...
>He starts moving into his coat pockets, trying to fish out a notebook and makes some marks about the taste, as he continues chowing down on it, looking as though he were trying to analyse the taste.
I guess you guys can afford a pretty fancy cook, huh?
>>41188704 >Another forkful of bean sprouts vanishes into the hood before the figure speaks.
We could, but one of members insists she does the cooking herself. She's also in charge of our food stocks as well... we usually don't end up with such a rounded up menu.
>One of her many eccentric behaviours. But Ameya probably got her to make more then just sprouts to eat just this once.
She's always been stingy when it comes to out budget, but no man can live on bread alone no matter how much they want too.
